As you can probably tell from the title, I'm going to babble on about how much ass the metal gear series kicks. I promise I won't go on as much as that Okami review, but once again, I have to get this off of my chest.

And let me point out there might be some SPOILERS if you haven't played/want to play the game.

First off, I love watching all the cutscenes, and unlike some games, it's NECESSARY to watch them. (To get the full effect of the game) I know that some people just want to play the game, but when you're playing Metal Gear Solid 4, or any metal gear solid game, it's like watching an interactive movie. Except I bet if you add up all the cutscenes it would be longer than a movie, haha.

Having played the series since the first metal gear solid came out, there are certain scenes/places/characters you remember from throughout the games. The awesome thing about Metal Gear Solid 4, is that you get to see so many characters from the older games, mostly MGS1. Now, there is a part in the game where I geeked out because I found out Snake got to back to Shadow Moses Island (MGS1 location). Now, I was satisfied enough just that I got to play at Shadow Moses again, but on top of that, the first part was straight out of Metal Gear Solid 1, Playstation 1 graphics and everything! But you get the idea, it was awesome getting to go back and remember all of the rooms and nostalgic references and flashbacks.

If anyone knows the Sniper Wolf battle/cutscene, there was an emotional little tribute scene after you defeat Crying Wolf, and then you can run around in the snow with a bunch of wolves that follow you around.

But my FAVORITE part had to be the whole ending starting with the final battle (Liquid and stuff) Now, I know I said there were spoilers, but even this is too awesome to ruin it for anyone. If you've played it, you know what I'm talking about, if you haven't, trust me its ridiculous.

The whole battle and the epilogue scenes were both epic and nostalgic, and I was close to breaking down, but that never happened. Now, let me explain. When I play a game or watch a movie, I secretly want it to make me well up and possibly cry a little. So naturally, I was a little disappointed when the FIRST set of credits began to roll.

But oh my god, when I saw the last name on the credits for voice actors/characters, I thought, wait he wasn't in the game?!? WTF?!?

Then the REAL credits started up, and holy shit I had a sensory overload. Ya know in cartoons when their jaw drops all the way to the floor? Well, for the first time in my life, I was sitting there with my jaw dropped without even realizing it, for like 10 minutes. That's how epic it was... Not to mention I got that "emotional scene" that made me shed some tears.

Now, (dammit I wrote a ton again) maybe I'm just too into it, but it's a great feeling, so all I can say is, Metal Gear Solid kicks ass!
